As we mentioned in our previous article, Reality Fracture was heavily delayed arriving to distributors, leading to a number of issues in the fulfillment and timely arrival of all product.

As we posted at that time, the following are the only products available Prerelease weekend:
- Prerelease Pack
- Play Box
- Draft Night
- Foundations Commander (NOT Reality Fracture Commander – the 5-color Jace deck)
All other products are delayed. Allocation notices to be sent out as usual, HOWEVER, there are a number of important updates we need to share.
Updates
To ensure even these products arrived in time for our prerelease events, we needed to expedite shipment of even these few products.
We are pleased to announce that our events will not be affected, and we will indeed be hosting all our events as scheduled!
However at the time of writing, only half of our prerelease shipment has arrived, and we will not be allocating any Play Boxes or Prerelease Packs at this time. Expect these products to be allocated as sufficient reserve to safeguard our events arrive.
Additionally, the cost to us to ensure this product arrived in time for us to run our scheduled events was substantial, and due to the heavy discounts we are proud to offer both storewide and across the MTG product line, we need to defray this cost. The products in this shipment (Prerelease Packs, Play Boxes, Draft Nights, and Foundation Commander Decks) will have an elevated price above our advertised price. Discounts will still apply at the normal percentages.

Truth & Transparency
Due to the outlandish series of likelihoods that led to this outcome, we are sharing an amount of internal information to clarify where these price surcharges are coming from.
This shipment of product, only four products of a larger release, is acquired at a cost of $30,990.84 to us (product only, not freight costs). To ensure prerelease events could be run on-time, we had an additional $3,992.21 in freight costs that had to be paid (rather than $5, in normal times). We saw an inflation in our costs of this shipment by $3,917.21, ~12.6% increased cost.
Margins on MTG, as you may be aware, are tight on the best of times. On these products, our average margin is ~38.5%, out of which we offer discounts ranging from 10% (Draft Night) to 16.66% (Prerelease Packs) to 20% (Commander Decks) to 25% (Play Boxes). For those following along, that leaves us with as little as a 13.5% margin. We do this in part to ensure our community has an excellent source of sealed product, but also as part of an ecosystem project to promote the volume of singles available in our local area – lower barriers to players means shops end up with a wider & deeper variety of singles. This in turn lowers barriers to new, returning, and entrenched players, and keeps more of the capital spent on Magic in Spokane IN Spokane.
That’s normal times. With this additional cost, our margins shrink immediately to an average of ~30.6%, an absolute decrease of 7.9%, and a relative decrease of ~20.5%. At worst (Play Boxes), this shrinks our margin to ~5.6%, which as you might imagine is untenable. To defray these costs, we are increasing our prices on these products to align with our normal margins.

As mentioned previously, the normal discount structure will apply to these products at these updated prices, those are noted above.
